The beginning of an update

 photo blue_zps3b4d2a77.jpg

There are some much needed updates that need to happen over here on Sabrina Says, but I'll be honest with you, the mere thought of sitting down and busting that out over a long weekend makes me want to cry a little. And maybe pull my hair out. So… That's why I've been making videos. Because they are easy and I don't have to write anything. (Read: me being lazy)

With the big trips I have coming up (Well.. two  trips to Vegas) I will have plenty of blogging/vlogging material. Lately I just feel like it's been a little bit of a stretch… Trying to come up with something important to say, taking pretty pictures when I don't actually want to get out of bed, and actually being on a consistent schedule. Blogging life is SO HARD. (That's a joke, I hope you know, it's just me being whiny)

So I may take a little break… I may not…. Maybe I will feel a little more inspired after my little weekend. Let's hope so, for the sake of everyone, that I come up with something a little more interesting to write about.

Happy Humpday, Friends! I'm off on a little adventure for the next two days! Follow along on instgram:

A Letter to Myself

When in doubt just write a letter to yourself.

Dear Sabrina,

So, you're going to be 26 in about a month. Pretty crazy, right?
Twenty-six years of being on this earth.
At this point, I'm pretty proud of you. I know that's something you really appreciate hearing. You have experienced great things: love, passion, heartbreak.
Be thankful for each of these experiences for without one you may not have experienced the other.
Also, being single is not a bad thing, no matter how many times you get that "Oh-you-must-be-so-lonely-look" from people.
No matter what, you rock that single-status like no other.

I'm going to be honest with you. You are kind of a lot to handle. You are stubborn, opinionated and you have a hard time sharing the spotlight.
Just no more charity event fiascos, okay? Everything else is fair game.

Even if you crave attention, you are one of the most fearless people I know. You are not afraid to try new things. You stand up for what is right. And you have one of the biggest hearts (I'd like to thank your mother for that). Compassion looks good on you.

As for those insecurities, keep working on them. There is something to be said for always wanting to better yourself, and you're going in the right direction. You have finally embraced your crazy hair (put down the flat iron every once in a while). You appreciate your curves. And your skin is finally acting it's age.

A word of advice: Never lose your heart. You have always been guided by what feels right and that is an intuition that will never lead you astray. Fall in love and fall in love often.

These next years you will be learning even more about yourself. You are capable of more things than you know. Don't hold back your shine, even when you're around a bunch of dark clouds.

Keep learning, keep teaching and keep living every moment you can. You are finally doing what you love and that is something you will never regret.

My Outfits: Laugh Along

Dress-Free People (similar), Hat- Target, Boots-Report

I have been trying to find a way to style this hat that I picked up from Target, and for some reason I have been having the hardest time. Why? It's neutral, it's a great shape. It should have been a no-brainer.
I think I've been going through some sort of style crisis lately. This transition into fall is sort of bumming me out. Not because of Autumn, but the impending doom of winter. No, I'm not being dramatic.
Okay, maybe a little.

Lately, I have been over thinking a lot of things. This, in turn, brings a lot of doubt.
Not a great feeling, but I'm guessing I'm not the only one who gets in these little funks.
Right?
My heart is calling for something adventurous and inspiring and I don't feel like I am fulfilling my potential right now.
As much as I travel and try to experience things out of my comfort zone I'm still wanting more.
If you know me at all you will know I have a little issue with patience.
We are not friends.
But for now, I will exercise all of my will power to not buy a one way ticket to... anywhere, really.

Thank you for reading, listening, supporting, liking and encouraging me.
I think the greatest feeling in the world is knowing someone has your back and supports you no matter what.
(Even if you get up on stage at a charity event and totally BOMB. I'm talking nuclear. Yes, this actually happened.)
Thank you for laughing along with me.

Happy Tuesday, Friends!

This is where you come in. Without you asking, I blabbed random facts about myself... Some I think you really connected with, and some... maybe not?

That's quite alright.
And I LOVED all of your comments and Sweet Sweet feedback.
It's nice to know others are right there with you sometimes!

So now, I need you.
I want to know what you want to know.
About me, that is.

What is it that you've been wanting me to write about/ confess/ vlog about.
Are there certain burning questions that I constantly leave unanswered?

If so, now is your chance! And trust me, nothing is off limits.

(If your question is really personal I may not publish it in a full blog, but I promise I will write you back. )

Okay... nows your shot! I hope you have some good ones!

Jeremiah Nine

This summer I had the opportunity to work with a great company that just so happens to be the brain child of my great friends.

Ever heard of it?

Maaaaaybe you remember this post.

Not only do they great amazing graphics on tees, tanks and dresses... but they are also firm believers in what the company is based off of:

The fight to end human trafficking.

Their main concept is "Apparel to End Peril."

Jeremiah Nine "is a response of compassion in action to the cry of women and children caught in the systematic lifestyle of slavery and exploitation."

Winter jacket? No thank you. I'm going to be busting out my Spring dresses! Winter here has been about 20 degrees warmer than normal which I have absolutely no complaints about. First of all, I'm a terrible driver. Add snow to that? You're just asking for disaster.
Secondly, I'm short. There is a good chance I could get buried alive in the mountains of snow.
That's why I refuse to go snowboarding.
That...
and I have horrible balance.
and I'm terrified of breaking my buttbone.
What? It happens.

So for now, I will be soaking up this glorious weather in bright dresses and biker boots. Because that's what I do. I'm a Spokane Kid.

Ghosts of Boyfriends Past: Manners

I'm going to start out by giving you the moral of the coming story first. Manners. People have bad manners. Either that or I am REALLY uninteresting.
hmmm.. we'll stick with my first assumption.

I was asked out on a date this summer. We took a summer course together and had hung out a few times, so the thought of a date seemed like a great idea. Let's call him Mr. Manners:
Photobucket

And this was a proper date. We both dressed up, he picked me up at my place....
Opened my door? Nope.
Bad start.

We went to this little restaurant and were seated in a table near the back of the room. As I sat and looked at the menu, Mr. Manners got up to use the restroom.
After about ten minutes I was slightly grossed out at the thought of why he was gone so long until he returned and was talking on his phone. Not only did he say "excuse me/ sorry" when he sat back down....

He Took Another Call.

Now, obviously it's not like I was going to marry this guy, but really when is it ever okay to keep your phone on during a date?
For the rest of the date we chatted off and on, but his phone stayed on the table.
I guess I didn't realize just how important Mr. Manners was... I should really feel lucky :)

To end the date he walked me to my door. As I said my thank yous and goodbye he dared to ask:
"Aren't you going to invite me in?"

Instead of slamming my door in his face, I chose to be nice, laugh a little and say "haha thank you for the nice dinner, but no."

Now, this story really isn't that shocking. I'm sure every lady has experienced something like this. Probably more than once. Manners are a big deal. Saying please and thank you, treating people with respect and chivalry are HUGE in my book.
So, Gentlemen, if you're out there:

Next time you go out on a date and text the whole time chances are, at the end of the date, you wont be getting that invite inside.

I think that's pretty reasonable.

Plus... I looked like this:

Photobucket
Maybe he was texting all his friends how good I looked?

"HEY EVERYBODY! COME SEE HOW GOOD I LOOK!"
Name that movie.
Go.

If you wanna go, baby let's go.

That song has been stuck in my head. Jewel- Stay here forever... Makes me happy

This is what I wore yesterday for Mother's Day Brunch. I'm glad my shirt isn't form fitting because I think I went back for seconds fifths.... Oops!

I'll Wear Your Colors, My Dear.

(Tank- Matty M, Jacket- F21, Jeans- Joe's, Shoes- Guess, Bracelets/necklace- Nordys, Sunglasses- Michael Kors)

Hello! There's plenty of room for you on this bench, here. Why don't you take a seat and stay a while? Maybe we can go for a walk through the park, bask in the the sunshine, run with the wind. Doesn't that sound like the perfect way to spend a Thursday evening? I would say YES. The sun has finally decided to show it's pretty face, and I am making the most of it, actually I'm sitting outside writing this as we speak. (Since we are speaking.)
As the days grow longer I grow more and more excited with all the things I can fill my days and nights with! Walks through the park, dining on patios, a fresh cool breeze as I drive. The little things, I tell ya!

I was dancing to April Smith and The Great Picture Show- Colors. NEW OBSESSION.
Check it.

Happy Thursday!

On Location

(Dress- Old Navy, Shoes- Ross, Sweater- Splendid, Belt- came with jeans from years ago, Jewelry- F21)

I did it! I finally got off my butt (and outta my house) and took some pics outside!
And I've gotta tell you... it felt great!
At first I felt a little silly as people walked by and probably thought I was crazy.

My favorite part: I was using my car as my tripod because I don't actually have one. So This guy pulled up next to me and said, "Do you need help?"
Then I realized it was one of my former professors.

That totally broke the ice for me, I mean how much more embarrassing could it get?

So off I went to find some other cool colored walls... it was just a great day.

Oh and I've been experimenting with some different tones in my pics... I don't know if I actually like them yet.. So tell me what you think! Pretty please :)

 This is my serious face.
Oh, did I not tell you? I'm a bear in my spare time.

Just Peachy

Spring Break. Ahhh.. my sigh of relief. I've been able to do all of the things I've been meaning to do like go to costco, clean my apartment, go through all of my crap and give things to goodwill...ect. It feels so good be productive for a few hours. It makes me so SO happy when I walk into my place and everything is put away in its neat little spot. But trust me, it won't stay like this for long! I swear, it's a good week and it goes right back to craziness!

But it's okay. I've come to realize that my life is such. I think everything is falling into place, and then I get hit like freakin train! But I know how to deal, and I am so blessed that my life is pretty stable. And luckily I have an awesome group of friends and my family near.

My mom and I went shopping the other day and I picked up these jeans and this top. The jeans were 40% off and then we got and extra 15% off of everything! I love scoring deals! So I've been wearing them like crazy the past few days. So Comfy and stretchy my favorite combination!

Ohh and what do you think of my couch? LEOPARD!!

Happy Friday!
