My Style: Lace it up

This picture makes me laugh. It kind of looks like I have a rat tail. But the cool kind (If there is such a thing). Regardless I heard the 90's are back.

Do you follow @TargetDoesItAgain on Instagram? You absolutely should. She posts some amazing finds, steals and deals on this account and they are all from one of my (and many others, I'm sure) favorite stores: Target.

For me, I always want my fashion to be accessible. Of course I like nice things, like a quality purse or fancy shoes, but for the most part I do my shopping at H&M, Forever 21, Target and smaller boutiques. Oh and thrift shops. Oh.. excuse me, I mean "Vintage Stores" hehe :)

I love a good deal. Don't we all?
And I love sharing those deals!

My Style: The Essentials

 photo IMG_9790_zpsf1f842c1.jpg
Shirt- Banana Republic, Skirt- Nordstrom, Shoes- Sam Edelman, Hat- Target

When it comes to style I like stick with what I know. I know I like comfort. I know I like flirty. and I know I like the unexpected.
This denim shirt has happily worked it's way into my wardrobe and has really become a staple. It's comfortable, flirty and really fun to pair with a skirt, skinny jeans or leggings.
It's kind of my fave.
The unexpected (Or not) would be the leopard heels. Sometimes I feel like leopard is not unexpected. It's not really an accent or surprise piece anymore as much as it is a neutral.
Which is pretty convenient, since I love me a good leopard shoe or purse.
Or scarf. or shirt.
Regardless... it's much easier to work this print into any style!

Oh and this hat? You need it. Just like I needed it.  It's PERFECT for fall.
Great color. Great shape. Just the right amount of floppy.
Go get yourself one! I promise you will love it!

My Outfits: Laugh Along

I have been trying to find a way to style this hat that I picked up from Target, and for some reason I have been having the hardest time. Why? It's neutral, it's a great shape. It should have been a no-brainer.
I think I've been going through some sort of style crisis lately. This transition into fall is sort of bumming me out. Not because of Autumn, but the impending doom of winter. No, I'm not being dramatic.
Okay, maybe a little.

Lately, I have been over thinking a lot of things. This, in turn, brings a lot of doubt.
Not a great feeling, but I'm guessing I'm not the only one who gets in these little funks.
Right?
My heart is calling for something adventurous and inspiring and I don't feel like I am fulfilling my potential right now.
As much as I travel and try to experience things out of my comfort zone I'm still wanting more.
If you know me at all you will know I have a little issue with patience.
We are not friends.
But for now, I will exercise all of my will power to not buy a one way ticket to... anywhere, really.

Thank you for reading, listening, supporting, liking and encouraging me.
I think the greatest feeling in the world is knowing someone has your back and supports you no matter what.
(Even if you get up on stage at a charity event and totally BOMB. I'm talking nuclear. Yes, this actually happened.)
Thank you for laughing along with me.

Happy Tuesday, Friends!

When dreams start to come true

That moment when things start falling into place. That is right about now. Beautiful, amazing things keep happening and I am having a hard time believing it is all real!

For one: I won a trip to Las Vegas. That contest for WWDMAGIC that I blogged about last week? Yeah... They picked ME to blog at the conference! I'm going to be live tweeting and instagraming up a storm. I don't think I have been more excited in my life. My first time in Vegas and I get to meet other fashion bloggers and team up with some AMAZING brands!

This is really a dream come true.

A little update on The Bachelor:
No word yet. But I am staying positive! This is something that I really want and I am SO excited for... but I also need to be realistic.

What I've learned lately is this: You get what you ask for. I have been asking for the things that I want. The things I think I deserve. Which isn't easy, but that's the point right? Getting out of our comfort zones and receiving the awesome benefits!

I can't wait to share more with you!

Write. Erase. Write. erase. The process of writing a blog post this morning has been quite....blah.
Normally I write my blog posts the night before when I get off work. You know, when I'm all sorts of fired up about something (usually Ru Pauls drag race). I still have a little spark of energy which makes the writing process cake. But last night I chose sleep over my beloved blog.
Yes, I went to bed without touching my computer. The last time I did that... I don't know.

As weird as it may seem to be in a semi serious relationship with your computer, it's kind of true... Hell, my macbook even gets the good side of the bed (oh the joys of being single).

But that's a big part of my life right now. Balancing my time between work and work and sleep and health.

One major thing that has helped? Getting to bed at a decent hour and not hitting snooze 12 times. It's amazing how much more rested I feel if I rise at the first alarm instead of the seventh. Do you feel the same?
Mornings are not usually my friend... but we are slowing working on getting to know each other.

What do your mornings look like? Early riser? Night owl? Do you require 10 hrs or no sleep at all?
Do tell: what makes you tick?!

Happy Tuesday, Friends!

Someone is ready for spring. There is no secret there! Any chance I get to walk outside without a coat I will take it for all it's worth!
Sure, I'll be running back inside because I forgot my phone on the coach and I will probably grab my winter jacket so I don't freeze my appendages off, but... there was that 2 minutes of pure joy where the bare skin on my forearms got to feel the sunlight.
Magic, I tell ya.

The sun is a deceiving thing. It's all... "Hey girl, come out side and play." and then when you listen it's like you get slapped in the face with a wet glove. Not pleasant. Not that I would know what that would feel like, but I can imagine.

So, until the temperature gets about 40, I will be wearing a jacket. But not in my pictures, of course. I would definitely get hypothermia for the sake of my pictures. Because I'm (should be) committed.
