The beginning of an update

 photo blue_zps3b4d2a77.jpg

There are some much needed updates that need to happen over here on Sabrina Says, but I'll be honest with you, the mere thought of sitting down and busting that out over a long weekend makes me want to cry a little. And maybe pull my hair out. So… That's why I've been making videos. Because they are easy and I don't have to write anything. (Read: me being lazy)

With the big trips I have coming up (Well.. two  trips to Vegas) I will have plenty of blogging/vlogging material. Lately I just feel like it's been a little bit of a stretch… Trying to come up with something important to say, taking pretty pictures when I don't actually want to get out of bed, and actually being on a consistent schedule. Blogging life is SO HARD. (That's a joke, I hope you know, it's just me being whiny)

So I may take a little break… I may not…. Maybe I will feel a little more inspired after my little weekend. Let's hope so, for the sake of everyone, that I come up with something a little more interesting to write about.

Happy Humpday, Friends! I'm off on a little adventure for the next two days! Follow along on instgram:

I've been shot!

Over here at Sabrina Says, it's kind of a one woman show. I dress myself(aren't you proud?), I take all of my own pictures and I write my blogs. It's just the way things have been happening since the beginning of time, well, since the beginning of Sabrina Says.

A few days ago I had the opportunity to work with the creative spirit that is Deneise Bucko. First of all, I show up to her house and it was like all of my Pinterest dreams came true. Incredibly styled and bright. I was on the verge of asking if a could move in.

Off we headed to the most beautiful locations! Lady had a vision and we were on a mission! I had so much fun working with Deneise! I rarely let people take pictures of me.. I feel like I get awkward when other people are around, weird, right? But even if I was awkward Deneise just hollered back with a "So cute!" "Love it!" and everything was okay.

Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot.

Happy Thursday, Friends! Things are looking' up!!

The One Two Punch.

Can you even believe it? Two posts in one week.
This is unheard of.

Just as of late.

And I do apologize.

Do you want to know what else I apologize for? Okay here's the list: (Including but not limited to)

I'm Sorry:
I have not been responding to your amazing comments.
Can I just say...
"I just re-created this playlist on spotify and named it Sabs (duh) Thank you!"

"my most played song is "Coast of Carolina" by jimmy buttet...about 900 times!"

"I did not sing Karaoke but I did gain about ten pounds in water weight from watermelon. "

"I haven't done karaoke in a long time but used to do it all the time in college. Which makes me sad b/c that was seriously long ago. So long ago that my go to songs were "I Like Big Butts" and "I Touch Myself". Yeah, I'm a classy bitch. "

My Readers are 100%... the absolute best. I will fight you if you try to disagree :)

You know what I'm not sorry for?

Fulfilling some awesome goals this summer!
Saving money, photography, vacations. Getting my degree!!!!

This is happening.

It's true.

Weekend Rundown

Weekends around here have just been flat out busy. Working, shooting weddings and engagements, spending time with friends and family, and still somehow finding a little "me" time along the way.

I think this is sort of an art I have perfected. At least I like to think so.
I am not one to read my horoscope everyday or even believe most of it.. but what I do know about it is Balance (I'm a Libra) I have pretty good at finding balance in my life.

This weekend started with a nice little lunch date with my mom! We spent some time together talking and catching up. It's always nice to know I have her support in anything I do. She is the greatest woman I know.

Friday night I worked and it was nothing too special.. but after I went to grab a drink with my Katie friend. Isn't she adorable in her fedora?

Next... is the praying mantas Nicole found at my work.. she named him Franklin.

Saturday I spent the early afternoon playing volleyball in the park and then headed to Kara and Tyler's wedding.
Can I just tell you... Simple is Stunning. The venue was perfect, and open and beautiful hall.
with simple decorations: sunflowers in vases filled with sliced lemons, hanging lanterns and a beautiful display of cupcakes.
It was so much fun to be apart of such a beautiful part of their lives. I cannot wait to share more pictures with you!

After the wedding on saturday I took a little downtime and dug into my new book! I am an avid reader of Cupcakes and Cashmere and and thrilled about this new addition to my library.

Down time was then replaced with good food and celebratory drinks. Where we had some bike cops escort us from place to place.

I am now officially in the police force.

The next to pictures are two things that really make me happy.
Food and Martinis.
I guess that doesn't need much of an explanation, now does it?!

Now I'm off to deliver some pictures to a couple from their engagement shoot. I cannot wait to hear what she thinks!

What did your weekend look like?
Do you live in the Spokane area and need some photos?

Happy Monday!

Day to Night

When Becka contacted me about wearing something from her fabulous store, Kiki La'rue I was going crazy trying to pick just one!
So I sent a list! I like this and this and this ohhh and this!
Becka was so sweet and suggested I review this little romper.
What I love about this romper is just how versatile it is. It is so comfortable. I felt like it could easily transition from day to night... so that is exactly what I wanted to show you!

Rompers are not only for beach wear! Although they look adorable when slipped over a bikini they have more wearability than just a day at the beach!

My day look is comprised of my favorite Sam Edelman sandals, a lightweight chambray shirt, sunglasses, a rose gold watch, my nook and of course, my sweet little bike.

I spent the afternoon reading in the shade, snapping some pictures and lounging in my hippie chic romper.

To take this little romper into night I decided to spice it up a little. Although the days of summer are warm, the nightly cool down sends shivers to your core. A blazer is necessary. Absolutely necessary.

I wanted to keep the colors neutral and light since the pattern on the romper is detail enough. I slicked back my hair, added my favorite Michael Kors watch and headed out to take myself on a hot date!
Yes.. a hot date with myself.

These Guess heels make me feel like I have legs for days and are just high enough to attract looks from my surrounding neighbors. One who shouted, "I could take some reeeeeal good pictures for you!"

I bet you could neighbor, I bet you could.

Thank you SO much Becka and Kiki La'rue for my fabulous romper and I hope you all enjoyed my day to night transformation!

Kiki La'Rue

Guess what?
I made a new friend.
No... it's not my bike.
Her name is Rebecca and she owns a shop called Kiki La'Rue.
She keeps her store stocked with the cutest dresses, rompers, tops, jewelry and pretty much anything fabulous and girly.

When she sent me this romper I immediately thought of doing a Day-to-Night look with it!
Here is a little preview of the day look!

Please go check out the Kiki La'rue Store!
I promise you will find something you love!

Come back to see a Vlog from me and Raven tomorrow!

Finally.

Five hours in an airport will make a person crazy.
Make you start doing/thinking/saying crazy things.
I tried to distance myself from the people
that were furious over our delay:
the restless children
the angry parents
the toe tappers
the talkatives.
So...

Pretty much everyone.
I was off in my little corner listening to my updated playlist
and snapping pictures.
(As you may have seen on instagram)

After a Five Hour delay
(and a $100 travel voucher)
I finally made it to California!

Only to be stuck in traffic.
Oh well. I was HERE.

We ate lunch in San Fran.
I'm not sure if it was the fact that I only ate pretzels the whole day...
but the food was magical.

I don't even think we spoke to each to each other
during lunch.
It was that good.
 We then headed toward Mendocino.
Final Destination:
The Heritage House.

We were greeted by bambi.

This is the view from my bed.
For three mornings this was my wake up call.
Dream. Come. True.

Some down time in between shooting.

I can't wait to show you the pictures of the property.
It was truly breathtaking.
I honestly woke up every morning and thought...
Is this really work?

Dream Job.

Back to real life today.

Making my job easy.

I spent maybe 20 minutes with Courtney and every single picture that I captured was beautiful.
And no, I'm not referring to my skills as a photographer.
It was completely my subject.
Holy Gorgeous.
Go ahead.
Drool.

The town I live in is funny. It's big... but it's small.
There are so many people that are fascinated by me taking pictures of myself.

Bystander:"What are you taking pictures of?"
Me:"Me!"
Bystander: "For what?"
Me:"My blog, SabrinaSaysBlog.com"
Bystander: "People actually look at this?"
Me: "Shit...  I hope so!"

Everyone has their opinions on blogs.
For me, it's my creative outlet.
blah blah blah.
I know you hear all the time... but I need it. I love it. I enjoy it.
It's a way for me to connect, to vent, to express the ups and downs of this life I live.
Some have found it interesting... Some have not.
I appreciate all of the followers.
The non-followers.
The followers that act like they don't follow.
I love you all equally.
I do.

You are the reason I write.
Take photos.
Share my thoughts.
Share my goals.
It's you.
It is.

Yes, you. I kind of like you.
And I hope you kind of like me.
