And the Birthday Girl Aspen. Such a little drama queen. I love this little girl!

It's always so nice to be around family. My nieces and nephews are so beautiful and smart. I have been so blessed to watch them grow up. Jim, my step dad, has been such an amazing addition into all of our lives. On top of making my mom extremely happy, we combined families. His kids are the most wonderful, thoughtful, sweet and caring people. I am so lucky to have them in my life, Plus they have really cute kids that I get to chase around.

Baby, I was born this way.

Recently, I went to my parents house to grab some things I was storing. While I was there, I had a great idea for a Mother's Day gift, so I started going through old pictures. With ever turn of the page I caught myself saying:
First: "Wow, I was a big baby."
Second: "These picture tell A LOT about who I am."

So here are a few of my favorites with commentary:

1. Camera Happy
This is me: Chubby and Content. From the beginning I loved the camera! Even as a small baby I would pose and smile.... I love(d) the attention!

2. Caught in the act
I was most known for crawling into places I wasn't supposed to be. I would take out all of the pots and pans, jump up on counters, and wiggle my way into the dryer. To this day, I leave all the cupboards open. Some say (my mom) I am unorganized, but I say I am always in the process of reorganizing!
I don't think she buys it.

3. Foodie
Like I said before, I was always smiling for the camera. UNLESS I had food. Case in point: Shoving a PB&J in my face. I have always loved food. I grew up with a lot of different styles of food, so I am always open to try anything.

P.S. Isn't my brother adorable in his Ninja Turtles shirt?!

4. Mother Hen
My mom always used to call me "Mother Hen" because I would always try to take care of my brothers.
I always loved baby dolls and taking care of anything.
I've always known that I would be a mom some day and every time someone asked,
"What do you want to be when you grow up?"My response was always having to do with helping people:
Teacher
Pediatrician
Gymnastic/ Dance Teacher
Babysitter (Yes, I thought this was a profession)

And Now my dream is coming true: I'm going to be a REAL grown-up teacher.

5. Dancing Machine
I was in dance classes and gymnastics before I ever touched a soccer ball, and I would like to think that's where I learned my coordination. I loved music and always performed in talent shows (once again, I loved the attention).
When I got my first pair of tap shoes I remember never taking them off. I loved making melodic taps as I walked. Once I even told my mom:
"Mom, I'm going to tap ALL over this town!"

6. I was born a princess.

My mom had these costumes custom made for us. Because of my Middle Eastern background (I'm half Palestinian) I was obsessed with Aladdin. These costumes cost a pretty penny, so I had no choice but to be Jasmine for 3 or 4 years in a row.

These picture made me realize that I am who I have always been (If that makes sense). I grew up with the best example of a strong independent woman that I consider my best friend and inspiration.
As each day passes I can only hope that I become more and more like her.

Do you ever realize this? Tell me your stories!

Love you mom!

P.s. My mom lost the perm YEARS ago, don't worry :)

My Brain Has Left Me.

Last week I promised that I would post picture of my sushi making adventure with my mom.
Well, I lied.
I didn't mean to, I swear, but you have to understand: I think my brain is on strike.
Lately I have misplaced things, forgot what times my classes were, and completely zoned out. What's my deal?
I don't know anyone that can answer that question, but with that being said! All I can do is throw my hands up in the air and hope for a clearer, more focused week in the future!
Done with excuses.

Sushi Time! My mom said she wanted to make sushi and I was stoked! So I headed over there just to realize she wanted to make california rolls. *Que Major Eye-Roll*
Mom, California rolls aren't reeeally sushi. I mean they are but they aren't, ya dig?

Oh well, I still was down to get sticky rice on my hands.

So I cut the cucs, stripped the avocados, and almost gaged when I smelt the imitation crap crab.
Just call me Sous Chef Sabrina.

Then we pressed the rice, added veggies, (some with crab) and rolled em tight.

I think we made 100 rolls, I don't really remember I was totally in the zone.

Have you ever made sushi? Do you even like sushi?
Tell me all about it, sistas (and porkstar).

P.S. (Rissy I'm taking after you) I'm sitting in class right now and would give anything to be anywhere else.

Just Peachy

(Pants and top- Gap, Jacket- F21, Ring- American Eagle, Necklace- Gifted, Shoes-Nordys, Nails- OPI Spontaneous)

Spring Break. Ahhh.. my sigh of relief. I've been able to do all of the things I've been meaning to do like go to costco, clean my apartment, go through all of my crap and give things to goodwill...ect. It feels so good be productive for a few hours. It makes me so SO happy when I walk into my place and everything is put away in its neat little spot. But trust me, it won't stay like this for long! I swear, it's a good week and it goes right back to craziness!

But it's okay. I've come to realize that my life is such. I think everything is falling into place, and then I get hit like freakin train! But I know how to deal, and I am so blessed that my life is pretty stable. And luckily I have an awesome group of friends and my family near.

My mom and I went shopping the other day and I picked up these jeans and this top. The jeans were 40% off and then we got and extra 15% off of everything! I love scoring deals! So I've been wearing them like crazy the past few days. So Comfy and stretchy my favorite combination!

Ohh and what do you think of my couch? LEOPARD!!

Happy Friday!

Fat Day.

(Top- Rack, Scarf- Gap, Watch- Fossil, Coat- LoLo Boutique, Jeans necklace and socks- F2, Boots- Frye seen here and here)
Yup. I said it. I'm having a fat day. Ya know what? Instead of throwing on my most comfy yoga pants or these, I decided I would actually look presentable for the day.

Oh and I was getting really frustrated with my camera because everything was turning out blurry and it wasn't focusing on detail, but then I found the setting and it's like MAGIC!

I really could use a new camera...any one want to loan (and by loan I mean gift) me a cool grand so I can buy a  Cannon EOS Rebel T2i... Any takers?? It would be greatly appreciated!

Look for the next post: My mom and I made sushi the other day mmmMmm!

Frye Boot Obsession

Anytime I see Frye boots on display I have a hard time convincing myself that I don't need them. Yes, they are quite expensive but I was lucky enough to find two of my three pairs at thrift stores. My first pair was a gift from my mom. We spent hours searching every Nordstrom in Seattle to find the perfect pair. Turns out, the first pair I tried on were the ones.
Then I found these...
Finally, I found these at Fringe and Fray

So now I'm thinking about adding one more pair to my collection. They are completely different, and they are named after me! Of course I need them!
