To be this lucky

Oh how quickly the years pass. I'm 26, people. Where did that come from?

I can honestly say my life thus far has been the most perfect adventure. I have made some questionable choices, been in some questionable situations and questioned almost everything in my life.

But it's brought me to this point right here. A point where I have everything I need. I am healthy. And most off all I am so damn happy.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes and sweet words. I've said this a few times and I'll say it again:

You are the reason I blog. You, right there, sitting in front your computer or reading this from your phone on a break from work. I love that I can be your little distraction and escape. I love that you have taken an interest in my life. It's really nice to know I have friends that I have never met, but I feel like I really know. So thank you.

I jump first

I have never been one to hold back. Anything.
I am usually the first one to put myself out there. The first one to jump in the water, sing karaoke, make a fool out of myself. The first to fall in love, make the leap and take the trip.

If you've been following along with my blog for the past few years you will fully understand my hesitation when it comes to long distance relationships. They just DON'T WORK (for me). Why?
Boy, I wish I had that answer. It would have saved me a lot of money.

But for some reason I find myself attracted to people that live no less than a four hour plane/car ride away.
Florida, California, Seattle... California, again. What is it?

I blame it on being restless in this city. I crave creativity and new-ness. I feel like the new is so very few and far between. And even when I think the old becomes new... they prove me wrong. This is not a city for second chances.
My heart longs for something so much more. To say burnt out seems so sad and so far from the truth  because I still have my fire. My flame has not fizzled.

Me? I'm like one of those fires you try to throw dirt on, but even when it's buried ten feet deep it finds a way to slowly burn and spark a flame eventually. So I'm looking for that spark.
Where is my spark, dammit!

The funny thing is... I'm pretty happy being single. I enjoy my alone time (maybe a little too much). I have a lot that keeps me busy.

Like my personal photoshoots. How am I supposed to date someone who doesn't understand that taking pictures of myself is one of my favorite hobbies.

Can I say that on a first date? Or do I have to wait until the third?

Ohhhh rules.

What a random assortment of words I have for you today.

Happy Monday, Friends!

About being great.

What are you great at?

This is a question that has many different answers, as for everyone is good at something.
Everyone has different strengths, skills and talents.
But for some reason we have a really hard time coming forth and saying:
"I'm great at _________."

Why is it so much easier to claim our weaknesses than to affirm our strengths?
Why do we always start with the bad, and finish with the good?
The feeling of guilt should never accompany accomplishment and success.
If something brings you happiness, joy, then why not celebrate it?

I can appreciate a confident person who knows what they are great at. When asked that question, to have a true and real confidence about your strengths takes a conscious effort for me.
Yes, I know I am good at things...
I mean, I won hula hooping contest  in the 4th grade.

But being Great?
Greatness?
What does it take to be great?

To be great has not a single thing to do with how others perceive you. Greatness is a personal power we all possess. Whether we allow others to experience our greatness is a choice. I encourage you to allow that greatness to shine through.

It's okay to say: I'm great.
Because you are. I am too.

What are you great at?

How would you define your style?
Do you know it well enough to to actually put a name on it?
I play around from time to time with trends, but for the most part I would say my style is...
Feminine with an edge.

It's funny. As each year passes, I keep trying to to re-define myself. Re-define my life. Re-define my living space. And year ofter year... I just make a mess of it.
So this year, I turn a new page. (Let's see how many clichés I can use)
I stop re-defining. I stop trying to make myself new.
Although, I may not be (THAT) old, I'm pretty okay with who I've become.

With all of the NEW projects I am working on, I don't have time to create someone new out of me.
It just seems a little silly, doesn't it?
So let's do this together.
Want to?

Let's make a pact to be happy.
To experience whatever it is you truly dream of.
Whether that's love, business, fitness...
Challenge, try, push yourself.

There's that quote that I always see on Pinterest...
"If your dreams don't scare you, they aren't big enough."

I have been dreaming for quite some time now, but this year, I am acting.
I'm taking big leaps and creating a, dare I say, career.
ohhh the dreaded "C" word.

You know what I've realized? This whole time going to school and trying to find myself I've been terrified of growing up. Of getting into a career that I hate and I find myself miserable and fat in 5 years.
You know? Do you ever feel that way?
So, I've been fighting that path.
But my fight has led me to a place that brings me pure joy.

And really? What else could one ask for?

If I never had to do my hair I would be one happy lady.
Unfortunately, I have the mane of a ravage lioness.
Sometimes I find treasures hidden inside (Mostly just tiny dreds)

So my solution? Invest in head gear. No... not the dorky kind.
I guess that depends on who you ask.
I've always had a little place in my heart for a preppy headband or two, but I have found myself more drawn to the bohemian style.
I think it goes much better with the out of control hair...

I am LOVING my new lens! It's so much fun for my outfit pictures. And it looks really beefy on my camera body.
As we know... it's all about the looks :)

I have a few videos in the works! Can't wait to share!
