Kiss me, Darling

A kiss can warm you to depths of your very soul. It can bring a smile to your face out of no where and can make any bad day turn around. There is something so warm and fuzzy… and itchy…. Yes, I am talking about this sweater.

As much as I am in love and completely obsessed with this sweater I have to admit two things: 1. It leaves little white hairy-fuzz on anything it comes in contact with (It looks like I live with at least 12 persian cats) 2. On a scale of 1 to itchy I'd say it's right up there with mosquito bites. Or that hidden hair somewhere down your shirt you can NEVER get. It's kind of like that, but all over.

But hey, the things we do for fashion, right? No? Is it just me?

My Style: The Essentials

 photo IMG_9790_zpsf1f842c1.jpg
Shirt- Banana Republic, Skirt- Nordstrom, Shoes- Sam Edelman, Hat- Target

When it comes to style I like stick with what I know. I know I like comfort. I know I like flirty. and I know I like the unexpected.
This denim shirt has happily worked it's way into my wardrobe and has really become a staple. It's comfortable, flirty and really fun to pair with a skirt, skinny jeans or leggings.
It's kind of my fave.
The unexpected (Or not) would be the leopard heels. Sometimes I feel like leopard is not unexpected. It's not really an accent or surprise piece anymore as much as it is a neutral.
Which is pretty convenient, since I love me a good leopard shoe or purse.
Or scarf. or shirt.
Regardless... it's much easier to work this print into any style!

Oh and this hat? You need it. Just like I needed it.  It's PERFECT for fall.
Great color. Great shape. Just the right amount of floppy.
Go get yourself one! I promise you will love it!

My Style: Boho Chic

 photo IMG_9441_zps840bc7a1.jpg
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend my very first polo event. Me, being highly sophisticated and never forgetting my manners, decided to take a little more casual approach to the "Derby Style" dress code.
You see, I have never been one to follow the rules.
I have never been one to take the easy path.
I'm more of the trail-through-the-woods type of girl.

Something that I am most proud of is in any situation I always stay true to myself and what I believe.
I believe in kindness.
I believe in doing what feels right.
and I believe in being happy.

I follow my heart.
And my heart said, "Dress like a hippy"

So I did.

Happy Wednesday, Friends!
I am gearing up to head to New York in less than a week!

This is my first time in NYC so I would love any suggestions you have! What are you favorite places? Must-see and Must-do?

Sometimes.

Write. Erase. Write. erase. The process of writing a blog post this morning has been quite....blah.
Normally I write my blog posts the night before when I get off work. You know, when I'm all sorts of fired up about something (usually Ru Pauls drag race). I still have a little spark of energy which makes the writing process cake. But last night I chose sleep over my beloved blog.
Yes, I went to bed without touching my computer. The last time I did that... I don't know.

As weird as it may seem to be in a semi serious relationship with your computer, it's kind of true... Hell, my macbook even gets the good side of the bed (oh the joys of being single).

But that's a big part of my life right now. Balancing my time between work and work and sleep and health.

One major thing that has helped? Getting to bed at a decent hour and not hitting snooze 12 times. It's amazing how much more rested I feel if I rise at the first alarm instead of the seventh. Do you feel the same?
Mornings are not usually my friend... but we are slowing working on getting to know each other.

What do your mornings look like? Early riser? Night owl? Do you require 10 hrs or no sleep at all?
Do tell: what makes you tick?!

Happy Tuesday, Friends!

Everything.

For some reason I have been using the expression "It's everything" constantly in my everyday speech.
How is your lunch tasting? "Oh, it's everything."
Don't you love that dress? "It is EVERYTHING."
What the hell does that even mean?

I don't know. Rachel Zoe has taken over my speaking patterns. I. DIE.

As for the rest of me, I am still mostly myself... after this past weekend in Seattle I was forced to take at least 2 days off from blogging because I could quite possibly lose all of my followers. Ya'll... We went to a bar called the Unicorn. 'Nuff said.

It was really a fabulous weekend. I spent quality time with my girlfriends, ate delicious food and drank way too much. (Which may have resulted in me getting carried around like a sack of potatoes... but my memory does not register any of that) Currently I am in detox mode. Working my body with some yoga and yeah, I bought a juicer! Hello, bandwagon! I'm always on board for a good trend/ lifestyle adjustment!

SO that's what's new with me. Rachel Zoe, Seattle, Juicing oh... and this skirt. This skirt is new and
IT'S EVERYTHING.
