Life and other things

Another day another delay!

The past two rounds I have had to take an additional week to rest between sessions. As frustrating as it may be, it's out of my control. And trust, I have done everything within my control to try to get my platelets up! (besides completely being on bed rest)

Like I've mentioned before, Yes! I have cancer but life goes on! I still have a family to take care of, a house to maintain and a life to live. I want to continue to be apart of my daughters school activities and take little trips when we can. Doing these things helps maintain my mental health and to me that is extremely important during my treatment.

So where are we in treatment?

I just completed round 4 of 9. Basically half way!

I have been experiencing hair loss but mainly my eyebrows, eyelashes and body hair. Cold capping is working!

I have also noticed some bloating/ swelling in my face, this I have learned is called Moon Face. This can be caused by the steroids that I take a a part of my pre-med routine during chemo. SO that's fun!

Another interesting side effect I am experiencing is dry skin and cracked skin on my fingers and feet. It's sometimes painful but I'm grateful it's not neuropathy! Other than that, I have been been pretty healthy, pretty happy and peaceful.

Our daughter graduated PreK and is ready to head to Kindergarten in just a few weeks! It brings tears to my eyes thinking about how much this girl has accomplished in the past year. She has grown in confidence, kindness and has exceeded our expectations in her academics. She is truly so special and loved, I could brag about her forever.

We made time to pick blueberries a few weeks ago, one of our favorite summer traditions! We ended up picking almost 20 lbs!

Besides cancer my life is pretty great right now. I know that sounds crazy, but I feel like the treatment has been manageable for me and I am very lucky to have my family's support. Paolo is able to take time off for my treatments to help out when I'm not feeling great. He steps up and carries all the weight when I'm unable. Through everything he has been such a constant support and happy to do it. He proves to me everyday that I chose the right one! Love that man :)

I'll be resting this week and hopefully my blood draw next week will be within normal range so I can continue treatment!

That's all from me, but let me know if you have any questions!
